All about Class 7A
“Back to Text, Simplicity with Style”
Founded in 1997, Class 7A Drama Group is currently a registered charity supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Based on outstanding texts and theatricality, we produce experiences that are only found in the theatre. We have produced more than 70 professional and well-received stage productions including The Gallants, Ya can Breathe!!, The Big Happy Dying, 2097: A Fairy Tale of Two Cities, Book of Magic, daddi, Love to Forget (musical)、Love at First Snow… (musical). We have also published play scripts for preserving and promoting local theatre arts.
We are also one of the pioneers in using drama as a teaching tool for various subjects in the local school curriculum. Subjects include Chinese, English, History, General Studies, Humanities, Project Learning and Other Learning Experiences. We have also produced performances for different organisations including Hong Kong Arts Festival, Environment Bureau of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, etc.
In recent years, we have been developing drama-in-education programmes that focus on Chinese language and culture, particularly using drama as a teaching tool for classical Chinese. Since 2015, we have been providing a wide range of performances and training to teachers and students since 2015. Our scripts are adaptations of required readings of the secondary school curriculum and have been well received throughout the years.
We also have rich experience in organising community theatre programmes to connect with different communities.
